The International 2018 Poetry Tournament is organized by WeArtFriends, a brand of Bulgara Magica Ltd. hereinafter referred to as “The Organizer”.

The Poetry Tournament opens for entries at 12 midnight (UK time) on Thursday 22nd February 2018.

All entries must be submitted by 12 midnight (UK time) on Monday 21st May 2018.

Current direct or indirect staff of the Organizer and their spouses/partners are not eligible to enter; neither are any current or former Poetry Tournament judges.

Poems can be on any subject, in any style or form.  .

You do not have to be a published poet to enter.

There is no limit of entries a single entrant can enter.

All entries are judged anonymously:  do not include your name on the document you send us by email.

If entrants would like to withdraw entries from the Poetry Tournament it may be done by notification in writing; entry fees will not be refunded.

The Organizer reserves the right to amend these Rules where it is deemed necessary or to account for circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control. Any notice of changes to the Rules will be posted on the WeArtFriends website.

In the event of any dispute regarding these Rules or any other matter relating to the Poetry Tournament, the decision of the Organizer shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

Entrants must not approach or attempt to influence any member of the jury over Poetry Tournament matters.

Entries not complying with the Poetry Tournament Rules will be disqualified, as will entrants in breach of the Rules.

The Organizer cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Poetry Tournament.

As this is an international Poetry Tournament, poets of any nationality writing in English can enter, 16 years old or over at the time of the closing date. Submitted poems must be written primarily in English, though a few words or phrases in another language/languages are acceptable. Entrants are allowed to submit poems translated into English if the source text is their own original work.

There are no limitations as to previous publication of entries – traditionally published, self-published, published on any website, blog or online forum or broadcast.

All entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and by submitting your work you are confirming that it is your own and you own all rights with respect to it. You would be immediately disqualified if any evidence to the contrary is established.

If your entry has been longlisted or shortlisted in other competitions, but it has not won a prize, it is eligible for the WeArtFriends Poetry Tournament Prize.

Simultaneous submissions are allowed but will become ineligible if they win a prize or are published prior to the date the results are announced; entry fees will not be refunded.  You must inform WeArtFriends immediately if your entry is published or wins a prize elsewhere.
