My Experience
I have 5+ years experience writing, editing and publishing poetry. I also founded PaperFields Press (a small press dedicated to poetry) in 2014 and managed it until 2016 when I closed it to focus on my own work. In addition to practical experience, I’m currently studying a Masters of Writing, Editing, and Publishing at the University of Queensland, and I have a BA with Double Majors in English and Film/TV/Media Studies.
Before I became an Author I worked for 15+ years in a variety of roles that involved writing and editing for business, including Corporate Communications, my own business writing Resumes and Optimising LinkedIn® Profiles, and Consultant roles.
After 5+ years of learning the indie publishing ropes and giving free editorial advice to other poets, I am confident that I can offer a valuable editorial service to Indie Poets and Writers who hold themselves to a higher standard.
Services and Pricing for Chapbooks:
A Chapbook contains approximately 25 poems (20-30 pages).
- Proofreading $80
Basic proofreading service for your Poetry Chapbook. Checking your manuscript for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. Choose this service if you have already completed a thorough check of your manuscript and simply require a second set of eyes to proofread. - Proofreading and Minor Edits $120
This service is for an experienced poet who requires minor editorial suggestions, such as removing superfluous words and improving readability. Price includes 1 round of revision (extra rounds can be added at a rate of $25 per revision). - Proofread and Major Edits $220
This service is for a first-time Author or emergent poet who is still finding their voice and defining their style. You will get in-depth editorial suggestions, including concerns about consistency of theme, voice, style, and imagery. Price includes 1 round of revision (extra rounds can be added at a rate of $25 per revision). - Organising Poems into a Cohesive Poetry Collection $250
For poets who have amassed a collection of poems, but need guidance with collating them into a collection for a book. With 5 years of experience of putting my own poetry collections together, and assisting other poets do the same thing, I can help you navigate this terrain. I will assist you in identifying a cohesive theme, brainstorm a suitable title, and suggest a framework for your book.
Services and Pricing for Full-Length Poetry Books:
A full-length poetry book contains approximately 50-80 poems (50-100 pages).
- Basic proofreading$120

I also offer freelance editing services for shorter pieces of work, such as single poems, flash fiction, short stories, blog posts, etc. These will be quoted on a case-by-case basis, but the baseline pricing is as follows:
Minimum charge of $100: For up to 1000 words
Minimum charge of $200: For 1000 – 3000 words

Turnaround times

Payment
Payment is upfront.
All payments are made through PayPal.
